Eric Clapton’s autobiography

September 9, 2009

I have never been much of an Eric Clapton fan. Growing up, his music was always kind of a laid back groovy sound and it made me wonder why he was considered a guitar god. I have recently come to enjoy his work with Cream and even branched out and started to fill in my collection. With that said, I was really looking forward to this book. Unfortunately, Eric spent little time analyzing his gift and gave far more attention to his addictions, which were numerous. I was hoping for an depth book about musicians like George Harrison and Steve Winwood. Instead, it got a little over wrought with AA mantras. With that said, it is amazing that Eric is alive and didn’t go the way of Jimi and Janis. It seems like he was mighty close to that arc. He is a likable chap, as they say, but I would have liked more music biography and less of whatever this was.

Wow, 2009 has been a huge blogging year for me.  I should really try to get in the habit because I find myself amazingly interesting.  I had a huge digital scare and realized that, above and beyond being organized, I should really be super organized.  This weekend in the first step in that direction.
